Spessartine, 27 Level, North Mine, Broken Hill, NSW
SKU: 338
Size- 2.5cm x 1.5 cm
A very dark coloured garnet crystal, the speciman consists of a larger crystal with a smaller one joined on one side, there is very little galena on the speciman. The crystal faces on the front of the speciman are bright, lustrous and mirror smooth. From the same area as the rhodonite crystals were found in the 1980's. Was very hard to get a decent photo of it.
A good thumbnail speciman, despite areas on the back where the matrix was joined on. Garnets of any quality are hard to get from broken hill these days.
